I read an interesting article http://www.law.com  that talked about how personal injury attorneys are starting to use sites such as facebook.com and myspace.com for doing research on clients. These types of sites leave a virtual trail of the people that use them and now personal injury and other litigation attorneys are beggining to use that information to their benefit. If you are in some type of legal battle you should think before you put something on your public site like a myspace page. It’s very easy ti incrimidate yourself and have someone’s personal injury lawyer use that info agianst you.

For personal injury lawyers out there it is important you don’t let your clients leave what could amount to a smoking gun on their public website. “Lawyers also should evaluate their active and potential cases to determine whether information on social networking sites could be useful or harmful to their case. Lawyers should be aware their clients could unknowingly leave a virtual trail of discoverable information that may provide an opposing party with a smoking gun in a high-stakes lawsuit. “
